The Town of Pinedale Public Works Department deals with water,
sewer, streets and parks within the town limits.
Water
Drinking water for the Town of Pinedale comes from Fremont
Lake, located four miles east of Pinedale. Water is chlorinated
before delivery to consumers. Bills for water and sewer are
sent out every 3 months. Payment may be made through the mail
or in person at the Town Hall in Pinedale.
Fremont Lake water exceeds EPA standards for water quality
and is considered some of the purest natural drinking
water
in the state of Wyoming. Water quality reports are available
at the Town Hall, as well as published once a year in
the
local county paper in an Annual
Consumer Confidence Report (which
is required by law to be published).
In
the winter, when water lines may freeze, the Town recommends
residents keep a 'bleeder' line running at all times to prevent
susceptible water lines from freezing up.
Property
owners are responsible for the water lines from the main to
their own buildings.
Sewer
The Town of Pinedale is on a town sewer system. The treatment
plant is located 1 mile south of town on Tyler Avenue. Treated
water is returned to Pine Creek.
Streets
The Town of Pinedale maintains the streets within the Town
limits, with the exception of Highway 191, which is maintained
by the State of Wyoming. Street lights are provided in town.
Parks
Pinedale has two town parks, both located adjacent to Pine
Creek. Both parks have trees, nearby stream, picnic tables
and green grassy areas. There are no public phones and no
overnight camping at either park.
The
American Legion Park is on the north end of town, visible
from Pine Street/Hwy 191. This park has picnic tables, a gazebo,
paved path and public restrooms. Public parking and restrooms
are accessed from Madison Avenue, just west of Big J's Auto
Parts store. Boyd Skinner Memorial Park is located two blocks
south of Pine Street/Hwy 191. Turn south on Franklin at the
Town Hall and travel 2 blocks. This park has children's playground
equipment, a kid's fishing pond, picnic tables, a paved exercise/walking
path, a foot bridge across Pine Creek, and public restrooms.
Town Shop
The Town Shop is located at 67 S. Lincoln Avenue. The Shop
houses maintenance equipment (city trucks, snow plows, etc.)
and Public Works offices. The "dog pound" animal
shelter is also located on the Town Shop grounds.
