Animal Control is responsible for dogs within the town limits.
Contact the Wyoming Game & Fish Department for game animal
problems. The most common ordinance violations our Animal
Control Officer deals with is for nuisance animals, such as
barking dogs and dog at large.
Dogs
All dogs within town limits must be licensed every year.
New tags are given out each year. Owners must have proof of
rabies shot for licensing. Sublette County is rabies-free.
To register your dog, you will be asked to provide your name,
address and phone number. You will also need the dog's name,
type, proof of current rabies shot, and whether the animal
has been spayed or neutered.
License
Fees
- $7.50/year for spayed or neutered animal
- $15/year for non-spayed or non-neutered animal
Fines-Dogs
at Large
- $25 for first offense if animal is spayed or neutered.
Fine is double for each offense thereafter ($50, $100, $200,
up to a maximum of $750)
- $125 for first offense if animal NOT spayed or neutered.
Fines are double after first offense ($250, $500, up to
a maximum of $750)
Dog
Pound
The animal shelter is located at the City Shop in downtown
Pinedale. It has three inside runs, two outside runs. Should
your dog turn up missing, check with us to see if it has been
brought to our shelter. Animals are kept for 5 days, during
which time they may be adopted if we cannot determine the
owner.
Dog Truck
Our animal control officer drives a white truck which has
two large kennels and two small kennels. The vehicle has a
sign, "Town of Pinedale, Animal Control".
